Grammar Sprinkles - Personal Pronouns

Download and print this week's printable to learn the personal pronouns in Greek with your children!

The equivalent set of pronouns in English are:

I
you
he
she
it
we
you
they

You can cut out the dotted part and keep it handy for when you need to get back to it. Help your child do the exercises. In the first one they have to fill in the missing letter while the second one is a wordsearch. Children love this one! Get them to find as many pronouns as they can (six in total).

Old McDonald had a farm in Greek

A lovely traditional nursery rhyme which all children love. My sister and I used to sing it when we were little and is as fun for my daughters today as it used to be for us back then! Find the words here and start singing it with your little one. You can add as many animals as you like!

Great fun, way to learn your farm animals!

At Greek4Kids we like crafting! And there is one blog we particularly love and go back to whenever we need inspiration and motivation. Lots of fantastic crafts ideas (and much more!). You can find irresistible recipes, awesome bentos and muffin tray tin ideas, great educational printables and invaluable party tips from an expert hostess! Lovely photography accompanies all the creations!

Emma and Vanja love to craft and do things together and they share their experiences with us on Emma's Lunch.

If child-friendly, child-inspired ideas with style is what you are after, look no further!

Grammar Sprinkles - Possessives

This week's Grammar Sprinkles is about possessives!

Learn and practice the possessives with your little one. You can practice with literally everything around your house by asking your child the question "Ποιανού είναι αυτό;" (whose is this?) and getting him to answer "Αυτό είναι το βιβλίο σου" and so on depending on the object in question. You could then get your child to ask you the question and you could provide the answer.

Uncle Brilio and the turkey

This song is about a turkey!

A turkey who was fed and fed and fed and fed until he got sooooo strong and big that he finally ate the farmer himself!

Vegetables flashcards

Children love flashcards in my class! Try them with your little ones and see for yourself how fun they can be! Print them out and laminate them for hours and hours and hours of fun!

This week's flashcards are Vegetables! Take them out after a trip to the supermarket or even at the restaurant while waiting for your meal! Your little one will have fun naming the vegetables! You could even print them twice for a vegetables memory game!

Animal masks - colouring pages

These lion, elephant and hippo masks can accompany your Greek animal words theme.

You can cut them and glue them on card paper and get your little one to colour them, or do some paper collage on them. Then you can staple a rubber band on the sides and voila you have a lovely animal mask! Alternatively you can get an ice-cream/ lollipop stick and glue it at the back of the mask for your child to hold the mask or even use them as puppets!

Poster - animals

This new series of posters will help your child learn new Greek words. This week's poster is about animals. Go through the pictures with your child asking/telling them the names of the animals in Greek.

Remember, repetition is an important part of learning!

You may print this poster on an A3 page and hang on your wall or you could even print a smaller version of it to take with you when out and about! :)

Grammar Sprinkles - The word η

Moving on with the articles, in today's post you can find the printable for the feminine article η and a rule to help you learn how to use it correctly.

The exercise on the second page will help your child practice the rule and enhance his vocabulary with a few unknown words.
