Grammar Sprinkles - The word το

Introducing Grammar Sprinkles with the article το.

To is the article "the" for neutral nouns.

In the first page you will find a small rule to teach to your child and in the second page you will find an exercise to practice this rule.

Grammar Sprinkles is a series of printables for older kids (5+) to introduce them to basic grammatical concepts of the Greek language. I hope you'll find them useful.

The donkey and the fox

Our song for this week is

The Donkey and the Fox - Ήταν ένας γάιδαρος

A classic Greek nursery rhyme about a donkey and a cunning fox.

As with all the songs on Greek4Kids you can use the printable - Donkey and the Fox - to laminate it and sing it with your child.

Here is Maya's version:

Just Imagine - Theatre Antidote

Greek4Kids goes to the theatre!

The lovely people of Theatre Antidote over at the Foundation of Cultural Creativity for Children and Young People present Just Imagine! No words, just music and colours. A play suitable for the whole family. Check it out and while you are at it consider following Theatre Antidote's and the Foundation's events and activities! It is a refreshingly genuine effort to bring the Arts into the lives of children and young people.

Here you can also find info on the play in the Greek language.

Caterpillar Name Tags

A very cute craft that will help your child learn how to spell his name in Greek.

You will need card paper in different colours cut in circles for the caterpillar's body (as many as the letters which spell your child's name) and another one shaped like the caterpillar's head. You can then get your child to draw the caterpillar's face and the letters which spell her name on each of the coloured circles. When all the letters are ready you can glue the circles together to form the caterpillar! Alternatively you could pin them together and your little caterpillar would wiggle!

Here are some of ours:
